6th Annual Adopt-A-Sailor Christmas DinnerDecember 25, 2009 |
Merry Christmas,
My daughter was one of the sailors that was at your lodge today. I want to thank you for making my daughter feel the best she has felt in a few weeks. Thank you for making her Christmas a beautiful memory
J. F. Selden, New York
Gentlemen,
I am the mother of a US Sailor... She attended your Christmas dinner this year. This is the first time my daughter and I have been separated. She was not home for Thanksgiving or Christmas this year. I just want to thank you for your hospitality towards her and her shipmates. You made her day and mine. She called me and it was the first time we spoke in 7 weeks. I wept with delight. She was overwhelmed by the experience and kindness. They hadn't been around civilians since October, the whole town of McHenry was wonderful. She loved the movie and the home cooked meal. I want to give you a heartfelt thank you. You gave someone in New Jersey the best gift possible without even realizing. God Bless You all and your families.

Just a huge thank you for adopting my Sailor for
Christmas. He was with one of the divisions that
your group adopted December 25th, 2009. It meant so
much to me knowing that he got to spend the holiday
with such an amazing group of people, and to him
that there are people that support the life changing
decision that he has made. Words are not enough to
express my appreciation, but they will have to do
for now. Again, thank you from the bottom of this
mothers heart for what your group did for our sons
and daughters.
